There are a lot of nuances in the rules of hand luggage, which you should study in advance before traveling. For your convenience, we have compiled a detailed guide.
Each passenger occupying a separate seat in the aircraft cabin may carry with him/her a piece(s) of hand baggage placed during the flight on the baggage racks above the passenger seats or under the seat of the front passenger seat, provided that the quantity and weight of hand baggage shall not exceed:
- for passengers of economy class of service – 1 piece weighing not more than 8 kg;
- for business class passengers, depending on the route of transportation:
- one piece weighing no more than 10 kg or
- two seats weighing no more than 8 kg each;
- for children for whose transportation at least 50% of the fare has been paid – at the rate established for adult passengers in accordance with the class of service;
- for children under 2 years of age the free hand baggage allowance is not provided;
- for passengers with tickets issued on the basis of a service request – in accordance with the norm established for the class of service specified in the ticket;
- for crew members of “Uzbekistan Airways” JSC aircraft – 1 seat weighing not more than 8 kg.
The passenger at his/her choice may take on board instead of a suitcase/backpack/bag carried as hand luggage one musical instrument in a case, the weight of which shall not exceed the permitted weight of hand luggage for the respective class of service, and the dimensions – not more than 150 cm in the sum of three measurements.
The maximum permitted dimensions of the sides of a piece of hand baggage may not exceed 55 cm, 35 cm and 25 cm, and the maximum sum of the three dimensions may not exceed 115 cm. These dimensions consider wheels, handles and side pockets of luggage items carried as hand luggage.
Hand baggage exceeding the weight and/or size limit set by the carrier must be handed in for transportation as checked baggage.
In excess of the hand baggage allowance, a passenger may take the following items necessary for the flight:
- a lady's handbag, a man's purse, a man's satchel, a compact briefcase or a backpack weighing up to 5 kg with dimensions not exceeding 92 cm in the sum of three dimensions;
- a child's travel cradle or folding wheelchair with dimensions not exceeding 118 cm in three dimensions (55×40×23 cm);
- umbrella or cane;
- a suit in a garment bag;
- goods purchased in Duty Free stores, weighing no more than 5 kg, packed in a bag measuring no more than 92 cm in the sum of three dimensions;
- various devices necessary for passengers with reduced mobility to move independently (crutches, walkers, canes, rollators, etc.) used by the passenger during the flight, which can be safely placed in the cabin. A folding wheelchair may be carried in the cabin only if there is space for its safe placement. If there is no such space, the wheelchair is handed over for carriage in the checked baggage without additional charge.
Cell phones, tablets, e-cigarettes and other gadgets containing lithium batteries/batteries/power packs may only be carried in hand baggage. These items may not be checked in checked baggage.
