On May 23, 2023, information was published on social networks that when flying from Tashkent to Paris, in front of the entrance to the aircraft cabin, passengers, having a baby carriage in their hands, were forced to hand it over to the luggage compartment. The airport employee insisted on this. Upon arrival in Paris, the stroller was not found when collecting luggage. In addition, the blogger writes in his message about the absence of an official representative of Uzbekistan Airways in Paris (France).
JSC Uzbekistan Airways Press-center reports the following:
In accordance with the Rules of the airline, it is allowed to take baby strollers weighing up to 8 kg and folded dimensions of 115 cm in the sum of three dimensions as hand luggage. However, an employee of the Passenger Transportation Service of Uzbekistan Airports Handling LLC did not allow the stroller to enter the cabin.
The Airline apologizes for the inconvenience caused by the passenger not receiving the baby stroller on May 23, 2023 flight HY251 on the route Tashkent-Paris on time. The reason was the fact that when checking in the stroller, it was packed by the passenger in an additional cover that hid the identification luggage tag, which was marked on the wheelchair at check-in.
Regarding the absence of an airline representative in Paris:
JSC Uzbekistan Airways, in order to reduce costs during the pandemic, decided to terminate the activities of several representative offices abroad, including in France. After the resumption of air traffic between our countries, Uzbekistan Airways is working on the restoration of previously operating representative offices abroad.
Dear passengers!
Please read the rules for the carriage of baggage and carry-on baggage on the airline's website, if you have any questions about baggage check-in, contact the official representative or check-in agent.
