Uzbekistan Airways’ Fleet Replenished by Another Airbus A320neo

The airplane was solemnly welcomed at the Tashkent International Airport named after Islam Karimov.

Medium-haul airline was purchased from China Aircraft Leasing Group Holdings Limited (CALC) under a long-term lease. Airbus A320neo, in a single-class layout for 168 seats, arrived from Kuala Lumpur to Tashkent in the traditional livery of Uzbekistan Airways. The aircraft will mark the beginning of a long-term cooperation between the national air carrier and the leasing company CALC.

To date, Airbus A320neo aircraft type is the most popular and one of the best among medium-haul liners, demonstrating the highest level of safety and efficiency. It is worth noting that, compared to the previous generation, the level of nitrogen oxide emissions reduced by 50%, which makes the aircraft the most environmentally friendly among competitors.

“This is the first aircraft purchased from our new partners, CALC, which will increase passenger traffic on Uzbekistan Airways medium-haul routes. Today, the airline successfully operates 19 aircraft of the Airbus A320 family, and in the near future we plan to replenish the fleet with two more aircraft of this family. In total, during 2023, Uzbekistan Airways will expand its fleet of aircraft with five Airbus A320neo aircraft and two LET L-410 aircraft”, Shukhrat Khudaykulov – CEO of Uzbekistan Airways JSC said.

 

The airline plans to use the new aircraft on a number of routes for flights from Tashkent and regions of the Republic.
