Reissue, rebooking and refund of an award ticket

Share on social media

A premium ticket issued entirely at the expense of bonus points is valid for 1 year, if the transportation has not started, then from the date of ticket was issued, if the transportation has begun, then from the date of initial departure. In case of voluntary modification of the contract of carriage, the validity period of the reissued air ticket must correspond to the period specified in the original ticket. And in case of forced reissue of an air ticket in emergency situations according to the “Rules of passenger service of flights of Uzbekistan Airways JSC in bad situations”.

Any change in the award ticket is possible only within the validity period of the ticket for the flight. The validity of the award ticket is 1 year.

The validity period of an air ticket issued with a prize upgrade is equal to the validity period of the ticket from which the upgrade was made.

At the request of the passenger, an upgrade to the service class can be made both for the entire paid route and for its individual sections, provided there is a sufficient number of active points on the participant’s account.

An upgrade to the service class is issued by reissuing the air ticket purchased by the passenger. An award upgrade is only possible when paying for an air ticket at fares that allow for an upgrade.

In the case of a one-time prize upgrade, it is allowed to issue a Z class air ticket indicating the cost of transportation at the B class return fare without charging the established fee for upgrading the class of service.

At the request of the participant, it is possible to issue an award ticket with an “open date” for the return flight. When upgrading the service class, the date of the return flight or the  possibility of booking with an open departure date is determined according to the  conditions of the originally paid fare. An open return date on an award ticket does not guarantee the participant travel on any flight since the possibility of a return flight depends on the availability of a free quota of award seats on the flight. If there are empty seats on a flight outside the quota of award seats, then it is possible to confirm the reservation of a seat for an award ticket issued with an open departure date, in excess of the quota established for award tickets, but not earlier than one day before the departure of such a flight.

An award ticket with a confirmed departure date may be reissued to a flight operating on a different date, subject to a rebooking/reissue fee. At the same time, if there is no quota of seats on the flight for Z/X classes, but if there are free seats in the corresponding class of service, confirmation of the new booking is made no earlier than one day before scheduled departure of the flight.

Voluntary rebooking of an award ticket can be made within the expiration date of the ticket for transportation. In this case, a fee rebooking an award ticket will be charged in the amount of:

  • X Class – 30 euros;
  • Z class – 10 euros.

A rebooking fee applies to all award flights, including upgrades. When upgrading the service class, the conditions of use of the initially paid tariff are not taken into account.

The rebooking fee can only be paid in cash.

If passenger voluntarily changes the date of departure/flight, re-issuance of an award ticket to a lower class of service in the corresponding booking class for award tickets is permitted and the difference in points is not returned to the program participant’s account.

A voluntary change in the route of transportation issued with an award ticket on regular flights of the company is allowed, subject to the re-issuance of the air ticket. Wherein:

  • A voluntary change of route on an award ticket, for which a larger number of points is required, is made only if the required number of points is available on the participant’s account, by collecting the required number of points from the participant’s account, as well as paying all the necessary fees.
  • A change in the ticket route, which requires a smaller number of points, is made by reissuing the air ticket, with additional payment by the participant, if necessary, of airport and other published fees. The difference in points used to issue the original and new reissued air tickets is not refundable.
  • Reissuance of an air ticket in the above cases must be accompanied by changes about the new route and the new air ticket number in the participant’s account record.
  • In the event of a refund of an award ticket, an air ticket with an award upgrade and services paid for with award points, the withdrawn points are not refundable. In this case, all unused established government, airport and other fees (except for the YR fee for issuing an air ticket) are returned to the passenger in accordance with the established procedure.

Award points used to purchase an award ticket cannot be returned in the event of a passenger’s voluntary refusal to travel.

In cases of forced change of the contract of carriage when the airline changes the current schedule, the fee for rebooking award tickets and tickets issued with an award upgrade is not charged and at the passenger’s choice, is charged:

  • Rebooking and extending the validity period of a passenger air ticket in accordance with the current rules of the airline established to serve passengers in emergency situations or situations of planned schedule changes, without charging the passenger fees for rebooking or;
  • Re-issuance of an award ticket with a change in route without charging the passenger fees for re-issuing the ticket and adding points or;
  • Forced return of the award ticket and amounts paid by the passenger as government, airport and other taxes, without deduction of any penalty fees with the restoration of active points used to issue the award ticket to the passenger’s personal account.
