Uzbekistan Airways is participating in the 79th IATA Annual General Meeting (AGM), which takes place in Istanbul (Turkey) from June 4 to 6.
The International Air Transport Association (IATA) is an industry association of air carriers, uniting about 300 airlines from around the world. This year, the participants confirm the work of the association and determine its strategic direction. In addition to its leadership role as IATA's highest authority, the AGM focuses on emerging industry issues and provides a forum for members to meet and network.
The event will feature panel discussions on critical industry topics, including how the industry is progressing towards its zero-carbon goal by 2050. A total of around 1,000 delegates are expected to attend the event, including top airline executives, key regulators, air transport supply chain leaders and the media. Also, during the event, the annual report of the air transport industry from IATA Director General William Walsh will be presented.
Turkish Airlines, one of the largest partners of Uzbekistan Airways in cooperation under the Interline/SPA and Code Share commercial agreements, has expressed an initiative to hold a meeting between the leaders of both airlines at the site of the IATA AGM event.
